The 18th century was the start of the reputation of landscape painting. Constable, Gainsborough and Turner grasped the opportunity to create great pieces of art in that category, and although Constable and Thomas Gainsborough mainly held their subject matter near to house, JMW Turner seemed more afield for grand landscapes to interpret.
Turner and Canaletto most famously grabbed the 18th century landscape of Venice and their operates are largely exactly why, when visiting Venice for initially on school trips, it may search somehow common to students.
